Main Street Orchids is owned and operated by Michael & Sharon Kauffman. We have been growing orchids for over 15 years – first as a hobbyist and then commercially.

In 1996 we sold another business, a home health agency, and decided to plunge into the orchid business. Our three boys are all grown and out of the house making their own lives.

	Our support group consists of a crazed puppy named Tess. She's an Australian Shepherd. Very active and intelligent.
	We have three cats. Putter is named after my dysfunctional golf club, and he's just plain cool.
	Talia is our youngest son's cat. We're looking after her while he's doing a year of graduate school in London, England.
	Mookie is Sharon's mother's cat. We got him when she got too sick to take care of him.

LOCATION: We are currently located at 222 Blue School Road, Perkasie, PA   18944.  Parking is in front of the greenhouses behind the barn.

We currently have two 34' x 72' greenhouses. In the first we grow lower light types. In the second we grow the higher light types. We have lots of species and hybrids.

Our goal is to provide you with healthy, well established orchids that can easily withstand the transition from our growing area to yours.

Having purchased hundreds of orchids by mail during our hobbyist days, we never could get quite used to receiving a shipment that was undersized, without roots, and overpriced. We ended up purchasing from a few vendors we found we could trust – those that sent excellent plants and would spend time answering our questions. We would rather develop a long term relationship with several serious hobbyists than make a quick sale and never hear from you again.
